About The Position

The Construction Manager IV is primarily responsible for assisting Operations and Project Managers in the safe and economic construction of structures in line with established plans and procedures. This role involves complete oversight of field execution activities, directing daily craft work through subordinate personnel, and acting as a resource for job planning and execution. The position actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values,” representing the Company with high moral standards and adhering to the “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”

Requirements

  • 6+ years’ job-related experience and bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction, or combination of equivalent education and 8 years job related experience.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Working and/or subject matter knowledge of oil field design, construction, finance and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and cost controls.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written) and computer skills (including MS Word, Project, and Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Project Management Certification from PMI preferred.
  • Practical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Operations and Project Managers in pre-job planning of project budgets, schedules, safety plans, quality control plans, staffing plans, and subcontractor selections.
  • Maintain accountability for safety on the project, conduct required evaluations, and actively promote and support company safety programs.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to monitor craft compliance with company and client safety programs and implement corrective measures when required.
  • Participate in the development of project organization requirements and assist with staffing key positions, ensuring qualified and trained candidates are selected.
  • Attend bid meetings and walk-downs to determine scope of work, complexities, accessibilities, and required content of estimates.
  • Review RFP instructions, specifications, drawings, technical data, and other documents to schedule, estimate, and support proposal development.
  • Provide oversight and support to payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable personnel assigned to the project.
  • Develop construction procedures to meet Division needs and train employees and Foremen on procedures to enhance efficiencies.
  • Assist Foreman to ensure excellent construction practices are maintained.
  • Coordinate work activities performed by subcontractors and other key vendors.
  • Conduct frequent walk-downs and inspections of the construction area to assist staff members with directing and evaluating work.
  • Enforce policies and operating procedures within the division in line with corporate policy.
  • Conduct daily coordination meetings with subordinates to ensure priorities are understood and adherence to the project plan is met.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to subordinate managers on operational issues and act as an additional point of contact for project-related problems.
  • Participate in the resolution of problems on projects or with clients and assist field project personnel in estimating Field Change Orders.
  • Perform general administrative, record keeping, and other duties as assigned.
