As a Construction Manager II, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects by overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications, and fostering strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to support successful project execution from pre-construction through closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering (P.E. Preferred), or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–6 years of progressive experience in construction management, preferably in DOT transportation or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff on large, fast-paced projects
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DOT or public agency projects is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to resolve field issues efficiently
  • Review and track project schedules, submittts, RFIs, and change orders
  • Facilitate and lead construction meetings, including progress, coordination, and safety meetings
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and progress records
  • Assist in cost control efforts, including reviewing pay applications and supporting budget tracking
  • Identify risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impacts to schedule and cost
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and field personnel
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation
