In this role, you'll be responsible for the inspection efforts on complex projects building experience in roadway, bridge and drainage construction projects while developing the technical and leadership skills that will define your career. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited program
  • Ability to obtain all INDOT Certified Technician Courses in first year of employment, if Bachelor’s degree is not an engineering degree
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • 0 - 2 years’ of construction related experience
  • Ability to work in inclement weather, work on a construction site, be exposed to heavy construction equipment, and walking
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and able to travel within the region, required
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Monitor work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction
  • Monitor contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications
  • Provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks
  • Provide reports of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received
  • Ensure construction methods and procedures are followed and that materials incorporated into the project conform to the project material specifications
  • Perform on-site material testing and verification
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
  • Create and compile close out or final construction records documents for submission
