About The Position

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Construction Management Lead to join our team in Nashville, TN. This role involves promoting and adhering to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, developing construction execution plans, and leading internal teams and external partners. The position requires overseeing all aspects of the construction schedule, integrating multi-disciplinary project components, and serving as an escalation point for field activities and client relationship risks. The Construction Management Lead will also provide solutions for project issues, negotiate change orders, conduct risk assessments, and review various project-related recommendations including constructability, cost reduction, operability, maintainability, safety, quality, and site logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (M.S. or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of (15) years of demonstrated capital project construction leadership experience.
  • Experience managing an integrated team on large complex and multi-phase capital projects/programs construction consisting of multiple project elements.
  • Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership of a team in an integrated project delivery organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating multi-million dollar contracts.
  • Proven track record of following through on commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering major capital projects/programs successfully (on budget, on time, meeting safety and quality standards within approved scope).
  • Proven track record of partnering and issues resolution.
  • Demonstrated excellent communications, presentation and written skills.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and follow Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and regulations and be fully committed in enhancing Site Safety culture and initiatives throughout all phases of the project, demonstrating operational excellence on topics such as HSE, client excellence, and team performance.
  • Develops Construction Execution Plan from client perspective and review and approve CEP developed by GC.
  • Participates in preconstruction discussions with clients and GC at a leadership level.
  • Leads internal team and collaborates with external partners to develop contractual obligations, such as estimates, schedules, staffing plan and business plan.
  • Oversees and assesses all components of the construction schedule throughout the lifecycle of the field construction to ensure contractual obligations are met and to hold team members accountable to all expectations.
  • Oversee the integration of all projects multi-disciplines (Owner’s, A/E, Contractors, Procurement & Supply chain) on site.
  • Serves as escalation point for all field activities and client relationship risks for the work program relative to contractual obligations.
  • Provide suggestions to solve escalated project, staffing, financial, schedule, contractual, subcontractor and client relationship issues throughout project lifecycle.
  • Negotiates issue resolution including change orders, contingency expenditures, and appropriate fee enhancements.
  • Conducts project risk assessments and escalates various risks to supervisor to provide visibility, mitigate risk and create appropriate solutions.
  • Reviews and provides recommendations to change orders requests and impact mitigation strategies throughout the project life cycle. This includes scope, cost, schedule control, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on the metrics and basis for progress reporting against the baseline.
  • Establishes constructability review guidelines and protocols.
  • Support approval or revisions over constructability review recommendations.
  • Develop guidelines and protocols for cost reduction initiatives. Review project level cost reduction recommendations.
  • Review project level operability and maintainability recommendations.
  • Review and provide recommendations on project level safety recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Review and provide feedback on the framework for construction quality control.
  • Review and provide quality recommendations and corrective actions. Review and provide feedback on project level quality assurance plans.
  • Develop overall site logistics and phasing strategy. Approve Logistics and Phasing recommendations.
  • Review the claims resolutions recommendations.
  • Ensures Owner Rep staffing levels are sufficient, relative to contractual commitments, schedules, and constraints.
