The Facilities Station Maintenance department is responsible for maintaining all 472 Stations within the Department of Subways. This department's responsibilities cover various areas within the station confines and are organized under the Assistant Chief, Station Maintenance, and 5 Districts. Station Maintenance also spearheads special initiatives such as the Station REVIVE program, Platform Barrier Installation Project, Facilities Upgrades, CSA Booth buildouts, and several upcoming special projects aimed at enhancing customer experience, cleanliness, and safety. Interns will handle administrative duties like answering phone calls, data entry, and related tasks. Depending on the intern's educational background, they may assist in creating and managing a SharePoint system for tracking, sharing, and following up on tasks, ultimately supporting field personnel in improving their performance. Interns might also be tasked with creating scopes of work for various projects and assisting project managers or supervisors with daily site visits and progress tracking to ensure projects remain on schedule.
