Co-op, Internship - Muncie
About The Position
Maxwell Construction is seeking a motivated Construction Management Co-op or Intern to join our team on a major project in Muncie, Indiana. This position is a hands-on, field-based opportunity that provides direct exposure to commercial construction operations and project management. As a member of the onsite project team, you will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, serving as an extension of the management team while assisting with the daily coordination, documentation, and execution of the project. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience and learn what it takes to successfully manage a construction project from start to finish.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar degree.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Procore
- Desire to learn and grow within the commercial construction industry
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily project operations
- Support subcontractor coordination and communication
- Track project progress and maintain project documentation
- Process submittments, RFIs, and other project-related correspondence
- Assist with scheduling and project planning activities
- Conduct jobsite walks and monitor work progress
- Support quality control and safety initiatives
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment logistics
- Maintain document control and project records
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting notes
- Assist with punch list activities and project closeout documentation
- Perform field verification, layout assistance, and quantity tracking as needed
- Support general field operations, including material handling, site organization, and other construction-related tasks to gain hands-on project experience
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Superintendent
