About The Position

This hybrid position is responsible for the daily activity for all construction loans, including voucher approval preparation, sales pace update and tracking, and release and payoff processing. The specialist will also assist in initial Loan Momentum loan set up meetings and ongoing covenant compliance tracking.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Construction Lending environment including understanding of Construction Loan documents, Participation Loan processes, and Construction Loan disbursement procedures for both commercial and residential projects.
Strong knowledge of the Real Estate Finance line of Business.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Skilled with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Comfortable with technology.
Ability to deal effectively with the lending team and other business partners.
Possess strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Strong attention to detail in order to maintain high level of data integrity.
Advanced knowledge of bank systems to support a commercial portfolio.
Customer service orientation and good telephone skills.
Ability to function as part of a team in a fast paced, frequently changing environment.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent quality customer service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds Firstrust Bank standards.
Review submitted loan draw requests to assure proper packaging and documentation in keeping with Firstrust Bank guidelines and terms and conditions of the loan agreement.
Make approval recommendations regarding the funding of submitted loan draw requests.
Prepare and process documents and reports pertaining to the Construction Loan Accounting System including new loan set-ups, voucher disbursement batches, percentage of completion records, miscellaneous system record changes, principal reductions and interest payments.
Monitor disbursement records, sales pace requirements, loan maturities, lot releases, loan budgets, Letter of Credit and Tri-Party Escrow requirements and budget earn-outs.
Maintain accurate servicing and disbursement file records.
Act as Liaison between clients, VP/Sr. Portfolio Manager/Real Estate Investment Specialist and CLA Manager and Relationship Managers as appropriate to gather required information and resolve questions and issues.
Assist the REF Portfolio Manager to effectively monitor portfolio risk in terms of collateral, construction, contingent liabilities, delinquencies, and maturities.
Act in an advisory specialist capacity with Relationship Manager, Loan Administrators and customers regarding technical issues with all aspects of the Commercial Relationship. Determine appropriate course of action and implement for problem resolution. Employ extensive knowledge and experience of complex relationships for use in monitoring of the Commercial portfolio.
Ensure constant compliance to legal, regulatory and credit policies in terms of loan documentation, credit approval and funding. Require correction of inconsistencies and monitor resolution.
Review complex legal documentation for conformity to approval in order to accurately reflect loan system accounting records at set-up, initial funding and subsequent loan activity, including advances, pay-downs, re-pricings, etc. Require correction of inconsistencies and monitor resolution.
Perform additional administrative and/or professional responsibilities that are unique to the Line of Business as defined by Commercial Services and Line of Business Management.
Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to establish business relationships.
