About The Position
Firma Contracting is currently seeking skilled Construction Labourers to work on underground and earthworks projects located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training, benefits and RRSP plan.
Requirements
- Previous construction experience is required
- Understand how to use power/small tools such as plate tampers, carb saws, etc.
- Ability to work long hours (10+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical able to perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs
- Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day
- Positive attitude / team player
- Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction
- CSTS 2020 (required)
- WHMIS 2015 (required)
Nice To Haves
- Prior water and sewer / underground utility experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Physical tasks, including digging, sweeping, sampling, lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
- Ensure safety fences / markings are all in place
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed
- Actively participate in all safety meetings
- General site housekeeping
