About The Position
Ocean Steel, incorporated in 1955, specializes in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges. They also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks, and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel has two New Brunswick plants: the original location in Saint John and the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, acquired in 1995. Requirements
- Completion of high school
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours and work outside in all weather conditions
- Able to work night shifts
- Own transportation
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving is an asset
- Previous experience in structural steel fabrication shop considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Providing assistance in paint shop by setting-up and removing steel beams for painters
- Load steel beams onto flatbed trucks in yard
- Use proper strapping techniques to secure load
- Assist with taping areas
- Use of overhead cranes
- Snow Removal in winter months
