Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management degree program with 2+ years completed.
  • Computer skills including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Sponsorship not available for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction field.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Greenbook specifications and standards.
  • Ability to read road and bridge construction plans.

Responsibilities

  • Read contract plans, specifications, and contract language.
  • Monitor field work activities to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Perform project closeout activities, including but not limited to punch list and substantial completion inspections and tracking.
  • Attend stakeholder partnering meetings, coordinate decisions with City Engineering Staff.
  • Observes highway work zones and traffic control setups and reports potential issues to supervisor.
  • Reviews project activities with contractor's field supervision.
  • Documents daily work activities and pay items.
  • Works under the direct supervision of a Field Project Engineer or Construction Manager.
