About The Position

As a Construction Intern at Lingo Construction, you will gain valuable experience by working in both office and jobsite environments. This internship is designed to provide a well-rounded experience in construction management, project coordination, and field operations. You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, field engineers and office staff to develop a deeper understanding of the construction process, from planning and scheduling to execution and completion.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the construction industry and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both in an office setting and on active construction sites.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take initiative to seek opportunities to assist the team and learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the estimating team with project takeoffs.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of project documents.
  • Support Preconstruction team with takeoffs, estimates, and bidding.
  • Support project managers in coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Help in tracking project progress, updating schedules, and preparing reports.
  • Participate in project meetings, offering input on planning, budgeting, and progress tracking.
  • Learn how to use construction management software and tools to support project coordination.
  • Participate in daily jobsite activities, learning about site logistics, safety protocols, and construction techniques.
  • Work alongside superintendents and field crews to monitor project milestones and quality control.
  • Assist with site inspections, documenting project progress, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.
  • Work in plan reading, submittal tracking, and procurement tracking.
  • Help with materials management and logistics to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Gain exposure to various trades and aspects of construction, from foundation work to final finishes.
