About The Position
Join Boyd Jones Construction for a 12-week, hands-on internship experience where you’ll gain real-world exposure to the construction industry while contributing to meaningful projects. Our interns collaborate with experienced professionals, sharpen their skills, and leave with tangible accomplishments to add to their resume. This program offers practical experience applying classroom knowledge to real-world construction challenges, exposure to all phases of the project lifecycle, mentorship from experienced professionals, and professional networking opportunities in the construction industry.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited program in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with scheduling software is a plus
Responsibilities
- Performing quantity take-offs, layout, and site surveys
- Assisting with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews
- Supporting quality control and safety programs
- Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and owners
- Attending and documenting project meetings
- Assisting in maintaining project schedules and cost tracking
- Reviewing construction documents and specifications
- Participating in punch-list and project closeout activities
