About The Position

Pennoni is hiring a full-time, direct Construction Inspector for a field-based role in the Princeton, New Jersey area. The position supports ongoing and upcoming construction projects by providing quality assurance and documentation throughout all phases of construction. The inspector serves as the Engineer’s on-site representative and liaison to the contractor, observing construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes. The role requires accurate field data collection, detailed daily reporting, and communication of construction issues to the project engineer and/or manager. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to project sites.
• Ability to work in a full-time, field-based role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Certificate or degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Prior experience with AutoCAD, iOS-based construction apps, or ACC Build.
• 0–3 years of relevant construction observation or inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Engineer’s on-site representative and liaison to the contractor.
• Observe on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Verify field measurements and quantities, and document daily quantities, materials, and resource usage.
• Maintain detailed daily inspection reports covering progress, issues, non-conformance, and weather conditions.
• Record and report field data daily.
• Identify and communicate construction issues to the project engineer and/or manager.
• Use ACC Build or similar platforms for digital field documentation.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
