Construction Inspector

Luster National•Columbia, WA

About The Position

Luster is building a talent pool of Construction Inspectors at various skill levels for future openings supporting large, complex transit capital programs. Projects may include light rail and bus corridors, stations, tunnels, elevated guideway, trackwork, and rail systems delivered through traditional and alternative delivery methods. Inspectors verify that installed work conforms to contract documents, submittals, requests for information, and applicable codes and design standards, and maintain daily field records used to document quantities, changes, and claims. Core inspection disciplines include civil and structural, building, electrical, mechanical, utility, and roofing inspection, as well as safety and security representation. This posting is for future roles rather than a currently available opportunity. Selected candidates may have their profiles activated in the specialty talent pool and be notified first when a project need arises. The position requires a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, active OSHA-30 certification, and at least five years of construction inspection experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects exceeding $500 million. Candidates must have experience in at least one listed inspection discipline or documented service as a safety and security representative, and experience with field reporting, quantity records, and nonconformance documentation on publicly funded projects. The role also requires the ability to interpret construction documents, use industry-standard field reporting and construction management software, and complete required site safety orientation and background screening. The expected salary range is $75,000–$135,000 per year ($36–$65 per hour), with compensation depending on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, licenses, and geographic location. The posting describes a broad benefits package, including flexible time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, insurance coverage, retirement contributions, professional development, wellness resources, and other employee programs.
