In 2019 St. Johns County was ranked the 10th fastest growing county in the United States showcasing that there is truly something for everyone in St. Johns County! The St. Johns County Growth Management Department is responsible reviewing all private development projects in the County for compliance with Land Development Regulations. We currently have 9 Construction Inspectors, they currently work four 10-hour days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday). Employees work in a team-oriented environment and coordinate with other Departments and Divisions to provide the best services to our citizens and to maintain the quality of life that brought so many to St. Johns County. Inclement weather and unsafe filed conditions contribute to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to ensure construction meets County standards. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations. Contacts are typically with other county employees, contractors, engineers, and members of the general public. Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve problems.
