About The Position

AECOM Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Construction Inspector / Technician to join the Kentucky team. In this role, you will perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance with standards, codes, ordinances, zoning regulations, as well as contract plans, specifications, and special provisions. Projects will include bridges, roadways, and environmental components. This role requires flexibility with working schedules as they are often subject to contractor timelines. The position involves inspection of roadway and bridge construction within Kentucky. You will monitor and document conformance with quality, performance, safety, and code requirements. Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications, and maintaining project documentation. A general understanding of procedures and company policies is needed to achieve set results and deadlines, along with an understanding of highway construction and specifications.

Requirements

High School diploma + 4 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with KYTC Construction Specifications.
Have necessary certifications from KYTC to perform inspection.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I: For testing plastic concrete.
Aggregate Sampling Technician: For sampling construction aggregates.
Grade Level I & II Technician: For soil, embankment, and subgrade inspection using nuclear gauges.
Asphalt Field Technician: For monitoring asphalt paving operations.
Structures Inspection Level I: Two-day course for bridge/culvert construction, requiring ACI and Grade I prerequisites.
KEPSC-RI (Kentucky Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control - Inspector): Mandatory for erosion control compliance.
Work Zone Traffic Control Technician/Supervisor: For traffic management.
Roadside Barrier Installation & Inspection: One-day course for guardrail and barrier inspection.
Utility Coordination Certification: Required for consultants interacting with utility facilities.

Responsibilities
