Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of post-secondary coursework in the electrical field.
A valid Alaska driver's license.
At least three years of experience in the utility field.
Extensive customer contact experience.
Proficiency in software related to CAD and GIS mapping.
Ability to analyze, plan, and execute construction projects efficiently.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Ability to adhere to GVEA, NEC, and NESC regulations.

Responsibilities

Engage with both new and existing members to understand and address their electrical service needs.
Plan the construction of GVEA distribution facilities, including residential and commercial services, preliminary engineering, and staking right-of-way.
Create and redline CAD GIS maps.
Order necessary materials.
Serve as the primary point of contact for new construction.
Collaborate with various departments.
Ensure member facilities comply with GVEA, NEC, and NESC regulations prior to connecting to the power grid.
