The Construction Field Engineer performs administrative and field-engagement work supporting construction projects. Administrative work includes uploading documents to software, updating schedules, reviewing documentation, and compiling and assembling systems manuals. Field engagement includes conducting walkdowns and training on systems and equipment. The role also reviews 2D drawings (PNIDs) for electrical, mechanical, and architectural trades; prepares daily reports on manpower and project activities; oversees trade inspections of equipment; reviews project packages; schedules meetings and alignments; tracks equipment and manpower move-in and move-out schedules; and works closely with contractors’ superintendents to identify and mitigate logistical challenges. The position requires extensive integration and communication with vendors and trades across multiple disciplines, resolving trade conflicts, ensuring the superintendent has plans and supplies for upcoming work, taking meeting minutes, coordinating safety with trade partners, organizing field walks with owners and trades, and completing permits as needed. This role requires local candidates, the ability to pass a required 10-panel drug screening and background check, and the ability to wear required personal protective equipment. The work involves frequent site inspections indoors and outdoors, including traversing obstacles and uneven surfaces. Chemical hazards are primarily mitigated through engineering controls, although incidental spills may require cleanup evaluation and use of a respirator and other PPE. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
