Construction Estimator – Rough Carpentry & Concrete Specialist
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with a deep background in rough carpentry and concrete construction to join our growing team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on construction professional who understands the work in the field and can translate that expertise into accurate, competitive project estimates. We're looking for someone who has actually built the work they're estimating. If you've spent years in the field pouring concrete, building forms, framing structures, and understand the real-world challenges of production, your expertise can make a direct impact on winning profitable projects and driving successful outcomes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or field supervision.
- Extensive hands-on experience in rough carpentry, concrete forming, foundations, structural concrete, framing, and related construction activities.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building methods.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost analyses.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Authorized to work in the US
Nice To Haves
- Experience estimating commercial, multifamily, industrial, or large-scale residential projects.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction practices.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Stack or similar platforms.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial and residential construction projects.
- Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents with a focus on structural concrete and rough carpentry scopes.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier pricing.
- Identify labor, material, equipment, and production requirements.
- Develop budgets, bid proposals, and value engineering recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Foremen during preconstruction and project execution.
- Track estimate performance and refine pricing databases based on actual project costs.
