About The Position

Founded in 2011, DCPS is a commercial property services contractor providing services to over 1,100 clients. DCPS leverages unparalleled customer service to be the leading, one-stop provider of commercial property services in Colorado. With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers. The Construction Estimator II is responsible for independently preparing and managing cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role works directly with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop accurate bids and support project success from preconstruction through handoff.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of construction estimating experience
  • Strong understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Excel, CompanyCam, or similar
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and project documentation to define scope
  • Perform site visits and assessments to gather project-specific information
  • Communicate directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify scope and pricing
  • Develop and present proposals and participate in client discussions
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Utilize estimating software and tools for cost analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Maintain records of estimated versus actual costs for continuous improvement
  • Assist with contract negotiations to ensure projects align with budget expectations
  • Coordinate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with execution and outcomes
  • Stay current on construction materials, technologies, and industry trends
