About The Position

Best Line Equipment is seeking an experienced compact and/or heavy equipment Road Service Technician who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment independently in the field to join the team at our Towanda, PA facility. This position is ideal for technicians who enjoy problem-solving, variety in their workday, and working outside of a shop environment while having the support of an experienced service team behind them. Our Road Service Technicians provide mobile service to customers within an average 100-mile radius of our Towanda location and are supplied with company paid cell phones, laptops, vehicles, fuel, and other items necessary to successfully perform off location. As a field service technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, inspecting, and maintaining a wide range of construction, landscape, heavy, aerial, industrial, agricultural, and fleet equipment. Successful candidates possess strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

  • Must possess valid Medical Card, CDL is not required.
  • At least two years' experience in comparable markets, preferred.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and strong electrical, mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to work with computers, schematics, repair manuals and warranty claims is an advantage.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent industry experience will qualify.

Nice To Haves

  • Beneficial experience would include DC electrical, hydraulic, combustion, and associated skill sets.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, service, inspect, and maintain a variety of construction, landscape, heavy, aerial, industrial, agricultural, and fleet equipment.
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine diagnostics in both shop and field environments.
  • Utilize computers, diagnostic software, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Inspect equipment and recommend repairs, maintenance, and preventative service solutions.
  • Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and service updates.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and professional work environment.
  • Rotating Saturday shift (approx. 1 per month).
  • Limited on call commitment (approx. 1 week per month).
