About The Position
Sterling Industrial, LLC provides civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural contracting services for new construction and maintenance/retrofit work, as well as shop fabrication and machining. Its clients operate in power generation, chemical, plastics, aluminum, metal processing, oil refining, and paper processing industries. The Construction Engineer supports engineering and management activities and construction project delivery. This is a full-time position requiring 40 or more hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Apply critical engineering and management thinking.
- Perform weld mapping, quantity tracking, takeoffs, weld inspections, and material searches.
- Assist in developing and implementing safety plans.
- Conduct site audits and material testing and analysis.
- Perform inventory checks, daily field engineering tests, and cost analyses.
- Prepare change orders and track production.
- Assist with method and field drawings, estimating, scheduling, and surveying.
- Support procurement and quality assurance reviews.
- Maintain files and records, including copying and scanning.
- Process charts, graphs, designs, and proposals.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed.
