AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Engineer for our Transportation Projects in the New York City Metropolitan Area (NY METRO). The candidates will be working on Transit/Rail and Bridge/Highway Projects. Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work. Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments. Spends a large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design. Required to work in the Field at an off-site Field Office. Required to take additional client-oriented Field and Safety Training. Assists in the preparation and review of construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents. Participates in site surveys and investigations to gather data for project planning and design. Collaborates with project managers and senior engineers to develop construction schedules and budgets. Monitors construction progress and prepares daily/weekly reports on project status. Assists in the coordination of subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Participates in quality control inspections and ensures compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Helps in the resolution of field problems and coordinates with design teams for necessary changes. Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant technologies for project documentation and analysis. Attends project meetings and contributes to discussions on technical issues and project progress.
