About The Position

This role focuses on ensuring the quality and safety of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, on construction projects, with a strong emphasis on NAVFAC or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) standards. The technician will coordinate the construction quality management program, review contractor submittals, ensure jobsite safety, and verify project documentation for payment processing.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of verified experience as a Quality Control Manager working for General Contractors on NAVFAC or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) projects that included extensive HVAC work OR 10 years of verified mechanical HVAC foreman experience on commercial, industrial, and/or military projects.
  • Experience must include performing or witnessing the following: Ductwork Leakage Tests (DALT), Testing and Balancing (TAB) of air and water moving systems, and Performance Verification Testing (PVT) for mechanical energy consuming systems and HVAC control systems.
  • Complete the "CQM for Contractors" course associated with the ACOE.
  • OSHA-30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the construction quality management program and monitor 3-phase checklists.
  • Review contractor Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Crane Critical Lift Plans.
  • Ensure jobsite safety compliance and recommend dismissal for recurring safety violations.
  • Review baseline schedules, daily reports, and verify as-built drawings for invoice payments.
