About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Civil/Construction Engineering Intern to support environmental remediation and demolition projects. This role, based in Rochester, NY, involves assisting in the management of significant construction projects, including planning and field support. The position requires the ability to work independently in a construction environment, with 90%-100% of the time spent in the field. Overnight travel may occur in 2-week rotations. The role is part of the Resilience Environment global business area, focusing on protecting natural resources and water for future generations. The hiring start date for this position is summer 2026.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related science discipline.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are also required for field reports and spreadsheets in the field.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience with field engineering, construction management, and construction oversight
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER

  • Working with and directing subcontractors and other contractors.
  • Promoting and tracking safety performance.
  • Conducting tailgate safety meetings.
