About The Position

Arcadis is currently seeking a Civil/Construction Engineering Intern to provide support on environmental remediation and demolition projects. This position will be based in Rochester, NY and may require regional and country wide travel. You will be responsible for assisting in managing significant construction projects, construction planning and field support. This position requires the ability to work independently, comfortable in a construction environment, and willingness to be in the field 90% - 100% of the time. Overnight travel are 2-week rotations on average. The role sits within our global business area Resilience Environment. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. The hiring start for this position will be in summer of 2026.

Requirements

Pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related science discipline.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills are also required for field reports and spreadsheets in the field.

Responsibilities

Assist with managing day-to-day activities on large construction/remediation projects.
Project planning and costing.
Professional interaction with clients.
Preparing field reports.
Communicating staffing needs.
Interaction and communication with clients.
Managing and updating construction schedules.
Determining and communicating staffing needs.
Tracking field costs and material volumes.
Preparing Daily, Weekly, Monthly Field Reports.
Working with and directing subcontractors and other contractors.
Promoting and tracking safety performance.
Conducting tailgate safety meetings.
