In this role you will get to lead aspects of on-site field construction activities as directed by the Mine Manager. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in field construction is required.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
  • Proven leadership and management capability is also required, as well as good written and oral communications skills.
  • Proven experience with surveying, layouts and grade control during construction

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the field exectution of construction activities onsite at a remote mine in NWT.
  • Ensure technical aspects of the program are carried out as directed by the Mine Manager and Project Manager.
  • Oversees work carried out by project staff and subcontractors as required.
  • Site surveying and grade control during construction.
  • Keeps alert to possible problem areas and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
  • Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
  • Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher-level management and clients.
  • Ensures effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures, including labor relations policies.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
