About The Position

Zachry is collecting applications for Construction Craft Rep to assist the Craft Supervision team (General Foremen, Foremen and Superintendents) with craft work planning, earned value, quantity management, document management, procurement/material management, cost management and technical support. A successful Construction Craft Rep interfaces well with the Craft Supervision team, Design Engineers, and other members of the project team. Specific task assignments include Material takeoffs (MTOs), progress measurement and reporting, development of material requisitions, utilization of 4D modeling program, review of cost codes, communication of design drawing and specification requirements and submittal of time sheets. The Construction Craft Rep reports directly to the Planning Lead and has overall responsibility for supporting the building of Installation Work Packages (IWP’s) and maintaining IWP’s for progress and updates. The Construction Craft Rep is expected to support the development of plans based upon the project schedule and their craft superintendent’s execution strategy. Multiple craft reps on site support the superintendents and the planner assigned to a craft. Opportunities will be available in muti-state to support construction projects.

Requirements

  • Technical Track (Level 1 Planner): Journeyman tradesperson (or equivalent) for 3 years minimum.
  • Technical Track (Level 1 Planner): Supervisory experience (1 year minimum)
  • Technical Track (Level 1 Planner): AWP Training
  • Technical Track (Level 1 Planner): Adequate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe (.pdf), etc.)
  • Engineering Track (Level 1 Planner): 3 years minimum field experience
  • Engineering Track (Level 1 Planner): Recommendation from employer (verified)
  • Engineering Track (Level 1 Planner): AWP Training
  • Engineering Track (Level 1 Planner): Adequate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe (.pdf), etc.)
  • Engineering Track (Level 1 Planner): (4-year degree)
  • Subject Matter Expert Track (Level 1 Planner): 5 years minimum field experience (resume w/ references)
  • Subject Matter Expert Track (Level 1 Planner): Recommendation from employer (verified)
  • Subject Matter Expert Track (Level 1 Planner): AWP Training
  • Subject Matter Expert Track (Level 1 Planner): Adequate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe (.pdf), etc.)
  • High School Diploma

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of field experience in Construction Engineering
  • Experience with scheduling, report writing, data entry, filing and document management
  • Knowledge of Craft Progress- Work Packs, Aconex SIMS, Oracle, scheduling software

Responsibilities

  • Perform constructability analysis on high level Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and develop electronic packages.
  • Support the development of CWPs into IWPs with input from Superintendent.
  • Track missing material/equipment for IWPs within 90 days of the plan.
  • Estimate resource requirements for each IWP and verify with the General Foreman.
  • Work with other craft reps and Workface Planners from other disciplines to ensure that the execution sequence is logical and well-coordinated.
  • Verify MTO’s for each IWP and load into the project progressing database (if not using a software program that performs this task).
  • Identify constraints and mitigate or verify prior to scheduling the package for execution. (materials, scaffolds, equipment, tools, etc.)
  • Issue Bill of Materials to Material Management for Trial Allocation and fulfilment of material for IWP’s
  • Ensure correct drawing revisions are included in IWP’s before issuance to the field for execution.
  • Develop, issue, and track IWP’s.
  • Help troubleshoot field challenges to mitigate crew downtime.
  • Support the development of Requests for Information (RFIs) when appropriate.
  • Close out IWPs when complete and reassign tasks to other IWPs if required.
  • Capture construction progress in project quantity tracking system Work Packs.
