About The Position
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in construction estimating, plan review, quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, scope interpretation, technical drawing review, instruction-based task design, and structured evaluation. This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on AI-assisted review of construction-related plans, drawings, estimates, and technical materials. Selected professionals will create complex evaluation tasks using construction documents, define clear expected answers, develop objective rubrics, and support structured review work involving cost estimation, scope interpretation, plan details, and construction documentation.
Requirements
- Professional experience in construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, plan review, project controls, construction management, or related technical review work
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, project scopes, schedules, estimates, and technical documentation
- Comfort working with precise instructions, objective criteria, and structured evaluation standards
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain task expectations and review decisions clearly
- High attention to detail when assessing accuracy, completeness, and instruction alignment
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
- Consistency across repetitive, detail-oriented review and rubric-based evaluation tasks
Nice To Haves
- Experience creating assessment tasks, estimating templates, training materials, documentation standards, or structured evaluation rubrics
- Familiarity with quantity takeoffs, plan reading, construction cost categories, bid review, scope comparison, or document-based quality control
- Experience reviewing architectural drawings, civil plans, MEP documents, structural details, specifications, schedules, or construction estimates
- Comfort identifying ambiguity, missing information, unsupported assumptions, quantity mismatches, or interpretation errors
- Strong ability to design objective criteria for evaluating complex construction, estimating, or technical reasoning tasks
Responsibilities
- Create complex tasks based on construction plans, drawings, specifications, estimates, quantity takeoff materials, and related project documentation
- Define clear ground-truth answers, acceptable response criteria, and objective evaluation standards
- Develop prompts that test plan interpretation, cost reasoning, scope identification, quantity measurement, and careful instruction following
- Ensure each task is technically accurate, clearly scoped, and suitable for structured review workflows
- Evaluate AI-generated responses involving construction drawings, estimates, takeoff details, project scopes, and technical documentation
- Assess whether responses correctly interpret dimensions, quantities, materials, assemblies, annotations, schedules, and document-specific instructions
- Identify missing details, incorrect calculations, unsupported assumptions, weak reasoning, or inconsistencies in the response
- Review outputs against objective rubrics and project-specific quality standards
- Develop clear rubrics that explain expected answers, grading criteria, and acceptable variations
- Provide structured written feedback on task quality, response accuracy, and evaluation consistency
- Apply detailed instructions carefully across construction estimating, plan review, and document-based evaluation tasks
- Participate in onboarding, calibration, or domain alignment activities when required
