About The Position

As a Construction Coordinator you’ll contribute to JM’s mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future. This position leads the JM construction team and is accountable for the construction execution of Capital and Asset Replacement projects ranging $50,000 to multi-million dollars. This includes construction planning, Client construction design and management representative, site control and inductions, constructability reviews, installation quality control, temporary works and site facility ownership for the coordination of contractors for construction execution. Responsibilities include reviewing and detailing the resources, required plant and construction companies required to undertake survey’s, de-construction, construction phase planning and interface management across multiple projects and construction for a brown field operational site. Success of this role will be maintaining the installation plan with the Program Manager and Project Team generating confidence for plant operations and ensuring key stakeholders are bought into any temporary or permanent construction activities to safely achieve the scope and schedule to agreed budgets.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience within a brownfield and or greenfield multi-discipline execution team across Client and contractor teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills required.
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC installation procedures and test plans.
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant H&S legislation for the relevant country.
  • Experience in working with project controls for monitoring progress and cost control.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, engineering, or related industry
  • Site Management Safety Training – experience of working with operations and construction permits with live site working and construction safety assessments.
  • Hold or knowledgeable in CDM/IOSHH/NEBOSH qualifications and be open to any training required or demonstrate a personal commitment to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Plant handover (Mechanical completion) and configuring plant ready for Commissioning and operational handover.

Responsibilities

  • Construction supervision of multiple plant projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely construction of projects, to agreed manning budgets and to delivered to the quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence and generation of Site procedures and Safe Work Practices for achieving successful construction quality (QA/QC) and control of the contractor workforce.
  • Ensure input and commentary to the planning of construction materials ordering, delivery, installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Owns the site plan for the identification and movement of people resources and equipment to meet the program plan over current and future years.
  • Take part in the pre-qualification of contractors to be used on the projects.
  • Adjudicate offers / tenders in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Maintain good communications with the operations team as well as the wider JM community to coordinate project delivery and identify specialist resources to complete plant handover / start up.
  • Ensure completion and handover of the project-to-project procedures – champions improvements in handover from project to commissioning and the operations team.
  • Work with project Controls and commercial teams to provide timely reporting of project progress and identification of issues which may affect schedule, budget or quality (e.g. Field Instructions and change management, quality alerts and holding sub-contractors accountable to complete corrective actions)
  • Work as part of a project team to deliver successful projects and ensures all construction activities have oversight from the small construction and interface teams that this position will control.
  • Ensure all projects are carried out in accordance with Industry and JM Health & Safety standards and local regulations.
  • Provide contractor inductions and competency assessments.
  • Review contractor method statements and risk assessments and arrange for suitable Permits to Work for project areas.
  • Participate in and identify support/scope for Constructability Reviews as required.
  • Ensure adherence to JM Security requirements.
  • Ensure all construction and demolition waste is disposed of in the correct manner and in accordance with JM Waste Management policy.
