About The Position

TRC Field Operations (TNC) is seeking an additional Field Construction Coordinator in our Northeast Region. This is a full-time position with above average benefits and growth/ career paths within Electrical Utility Distribution Planning - Construction roles. The role involves performing visual inspections of electrical distribution facilities, collecting field data, preparing minor work orders, and generating maintenance reports. It also includes performing various field technical services such as system inventories, audits, joint use management, and inspections of poles and lighting. The position requires utilizing electronic devices for data collection and maintaining knowledge of safety codes and standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • An Associate Degree in Construction Management or engineering with 0 to 2 years of experience or 2 -3 years of related electrical field experience without a university/ college degree.
  • Solid Communication and Computer skills: Proficient use and knowledge of computers and software applications desired (MS Office products); ability to quickly learn GPS systems, use of Hastings Hot Sticks, etc.
  • Current US Work eligibility is required.
  • A valid US Driver License in good standing.
  • All TRC FSV Employees are required to complete compliant background checks and pre-employment drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge/ experience in electrical distribution or Electric Utility Construction in Distribution is highly preferred although this position does allow the opportunity to receive mentoring/ training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment to compile field data collection, minor work order preparation, and maintenance reports of distribution equipment, including communication equipment.
  • Perform various field technical services for the operation and inspection of electrical distribution systems: system inventories and audits, joint use management and permitting, pad-mount inspections, ground-line pole inspections, lighting audits, etc.
  • Perform field data collection utilizing laptop computer, tablet device, GPS, and other electronic devices to collect data for input into database software as necessary.
  • Develop a working knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), electric utility construction standards, and telephone, cable and other communication facilities.
  • Operate necessary equipment to take measurements on utility poles and mid-span facilities, perform pole inspections.
  • Follow Code of Safe Practices as outlined in the company safety policies.
  • Possess or gain working knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements specific to the individual's job responsibility.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe and healthful place of work.
  • Responsible for your own safety. This includes inspecting your own workplace daily and promptly reporting unsafe/unhealthful conditions to the PM/ Supervisor.
  • Report all work-related injury or illness, however slight, to management.
  • Make recommendations for a safer workplace and/or work practices.
  • Personal protective equipment must be used and properly maintained as required.
