About The Position

We are seeking a Construction Commissioning Supervisor - Electrical to support the commissioning, testing, and verification of critical electrical systems for a liquid-cooled data center. This role plays a key part in ensuring all electrical infrastructure is installed, tested, and operating in accordance with design specifications, safety standards, and mission-critical reliability requirements. The technician will work closely with commissioning engineers, construction teams, and operations personnel to deliver a fully functional, resilient, and high-availability facility. Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management / supervision supporting commissioning activities in data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with critical power systems including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and ATS equipment.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
  • OSHA-30 certification required (or must be obtained within six months of hire).
  • Familiarity with data center redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N).
  • Experience executing commissioning test procedures (FAT, SAT, IST).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Effective communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new tools.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems proactively.
  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with load bank testing for generators and UPS systems is preferred
  • Exposure to PLC systems (e.g., Schneider Modicon or similar) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, BlueRithm) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in commissioning and start-up of electrical systems, including: Medium- and low-voltage switchgear, UPS systems and battery systems, PDUs, RPPs, and busway systems, Standby generators and ATS equipment
  • Execute commissioning test procedures (FAT, SAT, and IST) and document results.
  • Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems.
  • Support integrated systems testing (IST), including coordination with mechanical and controls systems related to liquid cooling infrastructure.
  • Verify installation against design drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Assist with point-to-point checks, energization procedures, and system validation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical teams to ensure proper integration of liquid cooling systems (e.g., CDU units, pumps, controls interfaces) with electrical infrastructure.
  • Identify, document, and track deficiencies; assist in resolution and retesting.
  • Maintain detailed commissioning records, reports, and checklists.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), energized work protocols, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Support turnover activities, including punch list completion and documentation handoff to operations teams.
