About The Position

This role is generally responsible for planning and scheduling of heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under general supervision. The primary responsibilities will include purchasing and expediting delivery of raw materials, equipment, supplies, spare parts, and services to maintain continuous plant operations. This role also involves negotiating contracts and/or purchase agreements for raw materials, spare parts, supplies, services and equipment for new projects under the direction of management. Communication with all departments is key to fill their purchasing needs and to inform them of order status. The role also includes participating in and conducting supplier audits, sourcing goods and services, preparing and analyzing RFQs, auditing purchase orders and requisitions for clear, correct and specific information, compiling, storing and retrieving purchasing records, building and managing vendor relationships, and participating in meetings as necessary. Additionally, the role requires analyzing market trends and applying this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions, supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, and ensuring that correct contracts are in place with vendors. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
  • Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and organized; can handle numerous tasks simultaneously without losing focus; ability to properly prioritize work.
  • Detail minded and delivers quality work products.
  • High commitment to work processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Commercial negotiation skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Construction Science, Building Science or advanced coursework is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
