The Construction Lead provides leadership and field oversight across one or more primary disciplines, including Constructability, Construction Planning, Transmission Lines, Substations, Distribution, Fiber Communications, and Tower Communications. The role supports safe, efficient, and high-quality construction execution, with a strong emphasis on identifying and addressing safety risks. It serves as a subject matter expert and primary liaison between Construction Management and cross-functional partners, supporting project planning, coordination, and execution while maintaining alignment among stakeholders, schedules, and field activities. For constructability work, the position integrates construction methodology into early project development by creating and standardizing Constructability Scoping Reports. It evaluates projects at a conceptual level, defines construction approaches before detailed design, and leads cross-functional scoping to align sequencing, access, and execution strategy. GIS, drawings, and other tools are used to develop construction sequences and assess access constraints, outage coordination, material flow, logistical risks, site conditions, and execution constraints. The role also supports continuous improvement through lessons learned, contractor feedback, and refinement of constructability practices. Fiber communications work centers on fiber-optic network construction, including aerial and underground cable installation, splicing, testing, and commissioning. The role requires understanding fiber systems, routing, network configurations, fiber documentation, and testing practices, and includes coordinating communication-system integration to maintain network continuity and functionality. The position leads, coaches, mentors, and trains junior personnel; develops and presents construction sequencing; interprets project documentation and diagrams; and collaborates with diverse teams, including in stressful situations. It may require substation and transmission-line site visits and long-distance driving. The stated physical demand level is sedentary work, involving mostly sitting with occasional walking or standing and exertion of up to 10 pounds occasionally.
