About The Position

Manages all aspects of work sites, resources, subcontractors and project progress.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience required, or equivalent education plus experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents including drawings and specifications, proficiency in MS Office, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to pass written and physical exams.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, coworkers and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong multitasking skills, strong time management skills, ability to complete projects on time, and strong decision making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in construction or similar field.
  • Construction manager or superintendent certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hire subcontractors and assign work accordingly.
  • Create cost estimates for projects and take care of the budget.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to determine budget and timeline.
  • Purchase materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain construction schedules and tracking system to track and report all phases of project to management as necessary.
  • Regularly reports on status of projects, either in person or through written reports/correspondence.
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines.
  • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
  • Schedule and oversee all phases of construction from permit to finish.
  • Coordinates all necessary permitting and inspections.
  • Possesses and maintains knowledge of OSHA requirements; implements OSHA guidelines and programs.
  • Enforces safety guidelines and promotes a safe workplace.
  • Resolve construction site problems.
  • Supervises subordinates and subcontractors.
