About The Position

The Consolidation Accountant plays a key role in a complex, multi-entity, multi-currency manufacturing environment, leading full-cycle accounting and consolidation activities. This position focuses on building, reworking, and improving consolidated financial statements and related processes, supporting accurate financial reporting and potential consolidation tool or EPM implementation projects within a science-driven biotech organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA), with Canadian CPA preferred.
  • Hands-on complex consolidation experience, including building, reworking, resolving, or upgrading consolidations and integrating acquired entities.
  • Proven experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency, complex manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Fusion, Dynamics 365, or Workday.
  • Deep knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing balance sheets, financial statements, and financial reporting in a corporate setting.
  • Ability to perform detailed consolidation analysis and produce high-quality consolidated financial statements.
  • Excellent cross-team communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with regional controllers, finance peers, IT teams, and external consultants.
  • Ability to clearly articulate problems and desired future states to support system and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle accounting activities in a complex manufacturing environment, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze consolidated financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Build, rework, resolve, and upgrade complex consolidations, including integrating newly acquired entities, adjusting eliminations, and expanding consolidation structures (such as moving from 5 to 7 entities).
  • Manage and support consolidation activities in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment, ensuring proper treatment of intercompany transactions and foreign currency impacts.
  • Perform detailed consolidation analysis and financial reporting, providing insights on balance sheet positions and overall financial performance.
  • Collaborate closely with regional controllers and global finance peers to align accounting treatments, resolve discrepancies, and standardize consolidation processes.
  • Support potential consolidation automation or EPM implementation projects by clearly articulating current issues, defining desired future states, and partnering with IT and external consultants.
  • Utilize large ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle Fusion, Dynamics 365, or Workday) to execute accounting and reporting tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets and related accounts as part of full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation in the consolidation and project reporting team.
  • Provide timely, accurate financial reporting and respond to ad hoc requests from finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $50.49/hr.
