About The Position

Tombstone Rips is looking for a detail-oriented, market-savvy Consignment & Online Sales Specialist to manage the intake, evaluation, and sale of consigned trading cards. This role is central to maximizing value on singles from our most sought-after breaks — deciding what sells now, what gets held for a better market, and making sure every listing across eBay and other seller platforms is accurate, competitive, and optimized to sell.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of the sports/trading card market — key players, sets, grading companies (PSA, BGS, SGC), and what drives card value.
  • Hands-on experience selling on eBay (required)
  • Comfort researching comps and reading market trends to inform pricing and hold decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail — condition grading, listing accuracy, and inventory recordkeeping.
  • Basic photography skills or willingness to learn card photography best practices.
  • Organized and able to manage a high volume of individual listings simultaneously.
  • Clear written communication for buyer-facing correspondence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills in general.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to describe products accurately and thoroughly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with other card marketplaces (COMC, Whatnot, Fanatics Live, MySlabs, etc.) a plus.
  • Prior experience consigning, grading, or flipping cards, either professionally or as a serious hobbyist/collector.
  • Familiarity with the card breaking industry and live-selling platforms.
  • Experience with eBay seller tools (promoted listings, bulk listing tools, Terapeak or similar research tools).

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process consigned cards from sellers, verifying condition, authenticity, and completeness against consignment agreements.
  • Research recent sales, population reports, and market trends to determine current fair value for each card.
  • Recommend and execute decisions on which cards to list for immediate sale versus hold for future demand spikes (player performance, HOF induction, anniversary sets, grading pop changes, etc.).
  • Create, edit, and maintain high-quality listings on eBay and other seller portals — accurate titles, descriptions, condition notes, and pricing.
  • Capture clear, well-lit images of cards (front/back, close-ups of centering/corners/edges) that meet marketplace best practices.
  • Monitor active listings and adjust pricing based on market movement, competitor listings, and sell-through rate.
  • Maintain accurate records of consigned inventory, sold items, consignor payouts, and unsold/held inventory status.
  • Stay current on eBay and other marketplace policies (fees, shipping requirements, authentication programs) to keep the account in good standing.
  • Respond to buyer questions, handle offers/best-offer negotiations, and resolve listing or shipping issues promptly.
  • Coordinate packaging and shipping of sold singles to ensure safe delivery and protect against damage claims.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on sell-through rates, top performers, and inventory aging.
