This is a grant funded extra-help (part-time) position limited to 1500 hours annually. Selected individuals serve on a field crew responsible for land stewardship activities on natural areas, including controlled burns, boundary demarcation, trail development and maintenance, parking lot maintenance, and invasive species control. Other duties may include purchasing equipment and supplies for land management and maintenance of agency equipment, including vehicles, chainsaws, mowers, all-terrain vehicles, and fire management tools. May assist with biological monitoring on natural areas as well as public outreach and visitor service. The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in land resource management, biology, forestry or a related field; plus two years of experience in land management. Proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently are necessary. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements. This is an extra help (part-time) position with Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission in Little Rock, AR with rate of pay $17.38 per hour. Job Summary The Conservation Specialist is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the implementation of environmental conservation initiatives throughout Arkansas. This role involves supporting senior staff in monitoring and enforcing conservation practices, conducting research, and providing technical assistance to local communities and organizations. The Conservation Specialist will also assist with public outreach efforts to promote sustainable practices and environmental stewardship across the state.
