About The Position

Saputo Produits laitiers Canada is looking for a passionate HACCP Advisor to ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of the HACCP system at our Saint-Léonard plant. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the deployment and effectiveness of preventive control and quality assurance programs to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role (quality control or assurance), preferably in the food sector.
  • College or university degree in Food Science and Technology or another relevant field.
  • Good knowledge of applicable food quality legislation and standards.
  • Possess food safety training (HACCP, GFSI, BRC, internal audit, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in teamwork, open-mindedness, and collaboration.
  • Strong priority management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Windows environment and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Functional bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written, as the incumbent will need to communicate with some English-speaking auditors and receive some documentation from clients outside Quebec solely in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the dairy industry (an asset).
  • Possess an internal auditor certificate (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site's food safety programs, including corporate programs.
  • Implement and coordinate all activities related to required quality management programs (GFSI, Legal CFIA and Customers).
  • Conduct risk analyses related to legal requirements (Health Canada) and third-party requirements (GFSI), in conjunction with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and update documentation associated with HACCP, BRCGS, Health Canada, CFIA, Kosher, Halal programs, and traceability processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in internal, regulatory, certification, and customer audits, and ensure follow-up on action plans.
  • Act as a technical reference for production teams and various stakeholders regarding quality and food safety requirements.
  • Lead the food safety committee and provide training to promote a strong quality and food safety culture within the organization.
  • Advise the Head of Quality Control in managing files related to quality, regulatory compliance, and food safety.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and any other initiatives related to quality and food safety.
  • Review production records, registrations, and documents, conduct on-site surveillance and inspections, and perform investigations as needed.
  • Perform all other related tasks.
