About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for an In-house Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Compliance team based in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada. You will be part of a dynamic and multifunctional team providing a wide range of legal support for all of Airbus' business activities in Canada. In your role, you will provide legal support for the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements and a variety of legal advice, particularly in the commercial, transactional, or regulatory areas, including innovation and sustainable development (environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) issues).

Requirements

  • Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec and/or of another Canadian province.
  • A minimum of three (3) - five (5) years of legal practice in commercial, transactional and/or regulatory areas.
  • In-depth experience in environmental, regulatory, and ESG matters
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills are required in addition to advanced knowledge of French
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple complex files simultaneously, within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and report clearly and in a timely manner
  • Legal expert who promotes teamwork, with business acumen, proactivity, and creativity, with ability to anticipate problems and propose and implement pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to deliver impeccable final results, demonstrating outstanding attention to detail
  • Available and flexible; occasional on-call duty outside regular hours may be required, depending on business needs or international cases that require consideration of time differences

Nice To Haves

  • A national degree (civil law and common law) with a superior academic record or membership in more than one bar association is an asset
  • Experience with research and development agreements is an asset
  • Experience gained in a national law firm is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide general legal support for all Airbus Canada matters addressed locally, with a particular focus on negotiating and drafting commercial agreements or transactional documents, as well as providing strategic advice on regulatory issues, sustainable development, and ESG
  • Play a preventive role by participating in the training of internal customers
  • Participate in the development and drafting of standard contracts, legal tools and processes in coordination with the Airbus Group legal services department.
