About The Position

Legacy Professional Services is seeking a Connectivity Engineer to support the successful installation, integration, testing, and turnover of structured cabling, fiber optic, and low-voltage systems for hyperscale data center construction projects. In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, QA/QC professionals, IT stakeholders, and specialty contractors to ensure connectivity infrastructure is installed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and hyperscale owner requirements. Your expertise will help deliver reliable, scalable, and commissioning-ready network infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations. This position is ideal for a technically driven professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality connectivity solutions in fast-paced construction environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting connectivity, low-voltage, telecommunications, or network infrastructure projects in commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and industry standards, including TIA/EIA and BICSI.
  • Experience coordinating testing activities, including fiber optic, copper certification, and OTDR testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, network diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or MS Project.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, industrial, or other large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with rack integration, white space infrastructure deployment, and data center commissioning processes.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and specialty contractors.
  • Knowledge of hyperscale owner standards and turnover requirements.
  • BICSI Installer or RCDD certification.
  • Fiber Optic Association (FOA) certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Manufacturer certifications such as Corning, CommScope, Panduit, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, integration, and deployment of structured cabling, fiber optic, and low-voltage systems for hyperscale data center projects.
  • Coordinate rack-and-stack activities and the deployment of white space infrastructure.
  • Review construction drawings, network diagrams, specifications, submittments, and project documentation to ensure installation compliance.
  • Verify installations meet project specifications, manufacturer requirements, TIA/EIA standards, BICSI best practices, and hyperscale owner requirements.
  • Coordinate and document fiber optic testing, copper certification, OTDR testing, and other system validation activities.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams to support integrated systems testing, operational readiness, and client acceptance.
  • Coordinate with connectivity contractors, IT teams, and other construction disciplines to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.
  • Track connectivity materials, network hardware deliveries, testing documentation, and project progress.
  • Maintain as-built drawings, test reports, deficiency logs, turnover packages, and other project documentation using Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and related construction management platforms.
  • Support final inspections, phased turnover activities, and owner handover to ensure successful project completion.
