About The Position

At ImOn Communications, we’re more than a technology provider, we’re a team of people passionate about keeping our community connected. As a Connection Specialist you will install, operate, inspect, maintain, and service all ImOn’s high speed data and digital phone equipment. You will also conduct safe and efficient operations and maintenance of various tools and equipment. The schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, including an on-call rotation schedule once trained.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to go into the on-call schedule
  • Ability to effectively communication with customers and coworkers.
  • Demonstrated creativity and willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction.
  • Ability to meet company training and safety certification standards
  • Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets company requirements and permits the candidate to operate an ImOn branded vehicle.
  • For Level II: At least 2 years of telecommunication installation experience
  • For Level II: Understanding of all types of customer-premises equipment (CPE, Modems, Set Top Boxes, ONTs, routers), and their use
  • For Level II: Has successfully completed a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) install, or similar
  • For Level II: Experience with VoIP installations
  • For Level III: At least 3 years of telecommunication installation and service experience
  • For Level III: Understanding of voice & data networks
  • For Level III: Experience with installation of SMB Telecom Services
  • For Level III: Basic understanding of power levels
  • For Level III: Ability to execute service calls, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Setup service for customers, installing, connecting or adjusting equipment.
  • Test equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Travel to customers’ premises to install, maintain, repair electronic reception equipment or accessories.
  • Measure signal strength at utility pole or customer premises, using electrical test equipment.
  • Inspect or test lines or cables, recording and analyzing test results, to assess transmission characteristics and locate faults or malfunctions.
  • Responsible for splicing of drops.
  • Reading/interpreting splicing documents and installation prints
  • Assisting with infrastructure maintenance
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for both residential and commercial service.
