About The Position

We're looking for a Congressional Investigations Advisor who can transform fast-moving Capitol Hill developments into polished client alerts, sharp talking points, and incisive briefing memoranda. In this role, you'll draft daily and weekly intelligence updates, distill dense oversight hearings into concise summaries, and craft external-facing content that keeps clients ahead of the news cycle. If you have a talent for producing accurate, well-sourced writing on quick turnaround—whether that's a client letter, a research brief, or a proposal for new business—and want to put those skills to work at the intersection of law, policy, and government investigations, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5 years of experience related to government investigations, public policy, news reporting, or similar experience required.
  • Understanding of congressional committees, legislative processes and government investigations.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with preference for experience writing external content (for clients or general news audiences) on quick turnaround.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to prepare quality work product in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize large amounts of data.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and a strong client service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the legislative process and key committees on Capitol Hill relating to investigations in particular.
  • Track congressional investigations, industry trends, and current events that impact clients and prospective clients.
  • Attend and summarize congressional oversight hearings.
  • Conduct extensive, in‑depth, and time‑sensitive research and package findings.
  • Draft client‑facing talking points, briefings, client alerts, letters, and other memoranda.
  • Produce daily and weekly updates highlighting congressional investigations, media coverage, and other client‑relevant developments for the practice group.
  • Coordinate and/or attend meetings for and with members of the Congressional Investigations team (and other practices), our clients, and with members of Congress and/or their staff.
  • Assist with client development, including conducting research and working with business development on presentations and proposals.
