The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations. Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements. The Inspector, Confined Space performs specialized inspection and verification of maintenance and repair work conducted within confined spaces on motor equipment systems. This role applies advanced mechanical and metalworking expertise to ensure confined‑space work is completed safely, correctly, and in full compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. This position is graded one level above Motor Equipment Metal Mechanic due to inspection authority, confined‑space qualification, and responsibility for work acceptance and certification. This position is contingent upon award.
