This role will provide critical support for Ship Change Document (SCD) during each of the Entitled Process (EP) review phases for the SSDS MK 2 Project. The Configuration Management Specialist will follow the development of trouble reports and engineering change proposals to anticipate the need for new SCDs. They will support the development of Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) for SCDs through the phases of design, development, installation, and check out. The specialist will also draft inputs for naval messages for Program Office release and create risk forms for Program Office processing. Additionally, they will provide SCD issue resolution to SSDS Submitters and EP phase reviewers, and support and coordinate the installation and evaluation of specific alterations/changes to shipboard equipment/systems. Maintaining records in the Navy Data Environment (NDE) of scheduled and completed installations by various modules is also a key responsibility. This includes creating and editing SCDs, viewing and printing SCDs, and modifying fielding plans and Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA). The role requires maintaining regular communication with government scheduling personnel to ensure rapid response to changing ship and program schedules and requirements.
