About The Position

We are seeking a Configuration Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Writer with a strong background in cloud security to support federal and DoD programs. This role will lead configuration management (CM) processes while developing and maintaining high-quality security documentation required for compliance frameworks such as RMF, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
  • Experience in configuration management and technical writing in federal or regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and/or FedRAMP requirements
  • Experience supporting ATO processes and security documentation development
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure) and cloud security principles
  • Proficiency with version control and documentation tools (e.g., Git, SharePoint, Confluence)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in DoD environments (IL4/IL5/IL6)
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and vulnerability management processes
  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CCSP
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures for cloud-based systems (OCI, AWS, Azure Gov)
  • Establish and manage configuration baselines, change control processes, and version control practices
  • Create and maintain ATO documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and supporting artifacts
  • Translate technical security controls into clear, compliant documentation aligned to NIST 800-53 and RMF requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers, ISSOs, and DevSecOps teams to ensure accurate documentation of system configurations and security controls
  • Support audits, assessments, and continuous monitoring activities
  • Maintain document repositories and ensure traceability across system changes and security artifacts
