About The Position

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Configuration and Data Manager to oversee the configuration management process for our business unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing configuration management processes and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) data to ensure compliance with contract requirements and support program objectives. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and consistency of product performance, configuration, and documentation across hardware and software systems throughout their lifecycle. The Configuration Manager/Data Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective configuration control practices, compliance with industry standards, and quality assurance for all products. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management, with at least 2 years working with electronic hardware and software systems.
  • Proven experience as a Configuration and CDRL Data Manager (CM/DM) or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools.
  • Familiarity with Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) management and government contract requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficient in configuration management software and data tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of both hardware and software integration processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in configuration management (e.g., CMII) are a plus.
  • Experience working in a government or defense contracting environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Agile or other software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans and procedures in accordance with contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and control configuration baselines, including documentation, hardware, and software components.
  • Coordinate and track Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure timely and accurate submission.
  • Maintain configuration status accounting and provide regular reports to program management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and program management teams to resolve configuration and data issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and contractual obligations related to configuration management and data deliverables.
  • Support audits and reviews related to configuration management and CDRL data.
  • Support cross-functional teams in the implementation of configuration management best practices.
  • Ensure proper integration of software and hardware systems, managing interfaces and dependencies between them.
  • Perform configuration audits to ensure compliance with established configuration management plans and quality standards.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management on configuration management activities, risks, and progress.
  • Ensure that all configuration management activities comply with relevant industry standards and certifications (e.g., ISO, CMMI).
  • Utilize configuration management tools and software (e.g., Git, Subversion, PDM systems) to maintain accurate records and traceability of hardware and software versions.
  • Create and maintain detailed configuration management documentation, including baseline definitions, change logs, and configuration history.
  • Investigate configuration-related issues and coordinate the resolution of discrepancies between hardware, software, and documentation.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address configuration management problems.
