About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Configuration Management Analyst Lead to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). This role involves providing Configuration Management and Data Management (CMDM) support and guidance to Integrated Product Teams, including Program Management, Engineering, and Cybersecurity, from project inception to completion. The position requires implementing hardware (HW) and/or software (SW) Configuration and Data Management activities to meet program contractual requirements, and supporting baseline control of all delivered software and hardware configuration items and documentation. The analyst will examine product design changes in drawings, SW and HW specifications, SW version descriptions, installation instructions, test plans, procedures, and technical orders to assess their impact on the overall product baseline and recommend necessary changes. Responsibilities also include performing physical audits of configuration items, documenting findings, and developing and implementing corrective actions. The role entails controlling, analyzing, and updating HW and SW baseline artifacts based on audit results, and maintaining revision and version control over multiple baselines simultaneously. Ensuring strict adherence to existing management and change control processes throughout the development and/or sustainment life cycle is crucial. The position supports the development, delivery, and customer review of program documentation/data deliverables and status accounting updates. The analyst will write and/or review all software and hardware change requests for completeness and compliance with guidelines and best practices. Additionally, the lead will guide and assign tasks to analysts in configuration and data management, configuration control boards, hardware/software verification, and software sustainment. Training and mentoring analysts in all phases of Engineering project development, including required tools and skills for producing project deliverables, is also a key function. Other duties related to providing configuration control for sustainment engineering will be performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in working in a sustaining or development engineering environment or equivalent work experience at a professional level.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment; and perform work and resolve problems under direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, e.g., Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of materials, components, assemblies, computer, and peripheral hardware parts/pieces preferred.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, e.g., WindChill or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with engineering documentation, product structure, and change order management in a configuration and data management environment is preferred.
  • Some extended standing and bending.
  • Occasional travel to remote sites.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Write and/or review all software and hardware change requests submitted for approval to ensure completeness and compliance with specific guidelines and industry’s best practices.
  • Lead and provide work assignments to analysts in the areas of configuration and data management, configuration control boards, hardware/software verification and software sustainment.
  • Train and mentor analysts in all phases of Engineering project development and required tools and skills to produce project deliverables.
  • Perform other duties related to providing configuration control for sustainment engineering.
