About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Configuration Analyst II to join a driven team of game changers. This role is key to an innovative, problem-solving team that helps deliver quality products meeting customer standards and protecting U.S. service members. The position supports Configuration Management activities on Combat Vehicle Programs, focusing on hardware configuration management and engineering bill of material management. The company offers competitive benefits and compensation packages, and this position operates on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. The role is primarily on-site (50% or more) but remote work will be considered.

Requirements

High school diploma / GED and 6 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
General understanding of Engineering / Manufacturing / Operations processes.
Ability to look at engineering drawing and understand which parts need to go into the Engineering Bills Of Material (eBOMs) and Manufacturing Bills of Material (mBOMs).
Knowledge/Experience with Enterprise Product Data Management System (EPDM) or must be willing to learn.
Understanding of processes to build and make products such as sub-assembly, installation, machining, welding, paint, marking, etc. or willing to learn.
Knowledge/Experience with Oracle related to Item Masters, Drawing File, Bills of Materials, Routings, etc. or willing to learn.
Good computer skills, with a solid understanding of the typical PC applications especially MS Office, Excel and Word.
Attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organization skills.
Ability to partner and collaborate with company personnel, customers, and suppliers to include effective communication both verbally and in writing.
Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Experience applying industry standards and meeting government requirements.
General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes and documentation including military standards MIL-HDBK-61, MIL-STD-31000, Industry CM standard SAE EIA-649, and drawing standard ASME Y14.100.
General awareness of design engineering, manufacturing, material planning; production planning purchasing principles and discipline of CM including Standards/Specifications. Ability to see the relationships of these functional areas and make decisions based on the business impacts to these area.
Familiarity with PLM, ERP and Oracle systems.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate Configuration Changes and Bill of Material (BOM) impact analysis efforts in support of multiple, significant developmental and production programs within BAE Systems guidelines and U.S. Government specifications.
Execute assigned programs within cost and schedule constraints.
Establish, maintain, and promote good customer relationships.
Ensure the coordination of work tasks with customer representatives and ensure customers are informed on status and progress of assigned programs.
Contribute to the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer requirements are met.
Review documentation and apply knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on the BOM.
Coordinate modification records for Changes and BOM management control.
Contribute to the development of policies and standards to ensure team optimization.
Provide guidance and training to team members.
Ensure CDM efforts meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
Establish and maintain configuration baselines and associated CSA information.
Support the development, delivery, and customer review of program documentation/data deliverables and status accounting updates.
