This role is responsible for transforming product requirements and engineering design intent into actionable product definition. The Configuration Engineer will utilize Product Lifecycle Management (GTCC) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems to deliver on-time and quality product definition to global supply chain functions. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining project structures and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for New Unit Requisitions from Order Release through the equipment's Commercial Operation Date (COD), supporting Conversion, Modification and Uprate (CMU) projects, and generating/managing New Unit requisitions' Flange to Flange (F2F) and Accessories project structures for Steam Turbine and Generator products. The role also involves managing ST/GEN CMU Bills of Materials (BOMs), creating and maintaining Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Unit BOMs, and converting/pushing Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) to various ERP systems. Additionally, the Configuration Engineer will support the Inquiry to Order (ITO) team for OTR transition of project scope definition in the PLM tool, collaborate with Project Engineering on requisition scope handoff, verify logical features and Variant Configuration Central (VCC) logic in the PLM tool, and support Preliminary Bill of Materials (PBOM) review meetings. The role also includes validating standard parts through GBOM rules, supporting Configure to Order (CtO) efforts, assisting manufacturing and sourcing teams with BOM concerns, conducting BOM integrity monitoring, executing configuration management in Change Management processes, and collaborating with other functions for continuous improvement and Lean activities. Ensuring adherence to established procedures, processes, and contractual requirements for configuration management is also a key aspect of this position.
